The Housing Office will help you find accomodation in Schwerin. We will give you information about social housing and housing benefits, as well as notification of change of address. Services include: 1. Service in apartment-searching regardless of your previous residence, incl. making contact to landlords and request a bid for an apartment. 2. if necessary, we will decide in co-operation with the responsible social benefit services (in normal cases: Jobcenter) if you may be entitled to housing benefits (Wohngeld). We will prepare the necessary application before you move to Schwerin. 3. As a result, we will forward the notification of change of address to the registration office (BürgerBüro), the application according to the Social Security Code (SGB II). If necessary, government aid will be granted for essential facilities of your new appartment.
